Winc wanted to promote the efficient use of cardboard and paper void fill materials while still offering a higher-quality package construction to reduce the risk of damage in transit. They were looking to standardise the appearance of their packaging while reducing voids and removing the need for manual carton sealing, helping refocus their employees on more value-added tasks.

Any solution would need to help support their commitment to next-day delivery for their customers. This meant that their ideal solution would be fully automated while offering support for multiple carton sizes, as well as easy integration into their conveyor systems.

Our solution

Ranpak’s solutions were selected to meet Winc’s specific needs. Two Cut’it!™ EVO machines running two different base carton sizes, were outfitted with extended magazine capacity and high-capacity glue hoppers to support continuous high-volume operation. These are supported by two Form’it!™ box erection systems to create a steady feed of cartons of each size, with extended magazines and glue hoppers of their own to match.

This installation is bolstered by 24/7 hotline support, as well as a robust maintenance agreement that includes multiple onsite visits per year. An onshore repair technician is also available with the technical expertise to replace high-use parts, and customised spare parts are stored onsite to keep Winc’s packaging lines productive.
